My Cleaning Chore Chart - Free Download

Today, I am going to share with you something I don't EVER show people. In fact, I actually remove it from eyesight when I'm expecting company. Weird? Maybe. Maybe to some of you, cleaning is like a second nature, and you don't need fancy charts to tell you when you're supposed to do what. Me on the other hand, I NEED to know when I'm due to do what task in order to utilize my time the best. And this chart ensures me that everything is done in timely manner and nothing is neglected. I can't stress the importance of using a cleaning chore chart in your home!

I have compared charts online, and combined them to make my own. The one that fits my family's needs best, and the one that ensures that my children will live and grow in a clean, and safe environment.

I've used to print it weekly, but now I have it framed in a simple white picture frame and I use an erasable marker to fill in the dates, and cross out the tasks I already completed.

I hope you find this chart as useful as I do.
Happy Cleaning,

PANTRY INSPIRATION

 Hi friends,
Since this blog is fairly new and doesn't have enough regular readers yet, I have made a decision to make my weekly link parties a monthly event. Therefore I am postponing the link party to the first Wednesday each month (November 7, 2012) and will leave it open for the rest of the month. This way I can concentrate on bringing new, fun projects and content your way! ;)

I still hope and look forward to meeting and networking with you all. I am really sorry if this decision has inconvenienced you in any way.

Hope you have a wonderful day,
Kristina

If these yummy pictures of pantries don't get your organizing juices flowing, nothing will!!! I am in absolute heaven!!!

VIDEO GAME AND ACCESSORIES STORAGE UPGRADE

Hey guys,

I am hanging out with my kids and we're being a little silly while we organize. Who said organizing can't be fun?!

Just wanted to drop in and show you an update on how we organized my kid's video games and their accessories. Remember I showed you pictures here and here, and mentioned that we are in dying need of an upgrade.

So once again, here is the before picture:

We went "shopping" in our home and found a fairly large basket. and a smaller storage box that fit perfectly in it. We designated the storage box to house the accessories, and filed the video games on the outside.

Lets check out the after picture, DRUM ROLL PLEASE...

TA DAAA ;)

Oh, while my son and I were organizing their games, my daughter took it upon herself and organized their book shelves in our living room:

This child totally takes after me...so proud :)

Happy organizing,

INSPIRATION WEDNESDAY LINK PARTY #4

Hi Friends,
Welcome back to Inspiration Wednesday Link Party,

Thanks to all of you that have linked up last
Wednesday! What a fabulous medley of Inspirations we got! I really appreciate each and every one of you! I look forward to seeing what you have to share with us this week.

I will not make you wait any longer. This week we have a tie:

The first post belongs to Sarah from My Mise en Place where she demonstrates, how by thinking outside the box, she used something ordinary into something amazing, and simply genius! Thanks for the inspiration and linking up, Sarah!

My Mise en Place

And the second post belongs to the very inspiring post by Lauren, from Totally Lauren Amber
who's got her meal planning down to science! From meal plans, to grocery lists, there is no surprises and it totally makes me squeal with excitement! It just gives me more opportunity to organize, and you know that totally rocks my world! I am an avid cook, and spontaneously cook every day with whatever I can whip up, with the ingredients from my pantry. I like to experiment with new dishes, and of course I have learned how to make many Hungarian and Serbian dishes from my mother; and once I got married, I've learned some staples of the Italian cuisine from my mother in law.

So Lauren thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

UDER THE SINK STORAGE SOLUTIONS

Living in a confined space, finding storage presents its challenges. I too am no stranger to this issue. Under my bathroom sink, the cabinet is damp and cramped with bathroom plumbing, leaving me not much room to work with.

I looked on Pinterest for some ideas, and became inspired and completely smitten with these under the sink storage ideas.

For years I've been switching the objects I stored in this cabinet, and learned the hard way to keep only water-resistant items in it.

While still inspired, I ran to my bathroom and starting pulling out all the items (but not before I got a chance to snap a few photos for you)!

As you can see, my under the sink storage housed my stock of cleaning supplies, and some of the personal hygiene supplies that didn't fit on my cube shelving (I will show you that on another day).

- I wiped the walls, doors and base of the cabinet thoroughly.

-I painted the back wall of the cabinet with left over paint I had on hand. It was one of those things that always bothered me, but I would quickly shut the doors and forget about it...or tried to.

 - Now that the cabinet is cleaned and painted, I started sorting the products by category. I kept my cleaning, personal and kitchen products under my bathroom sink. The kitchen products were brought to where they belong (the kitchen), and as I went through the rest of the products, I purged the ones I no longer use.

-Assign a home for the products.

- I noticed that some products took up too much space, yet I have used up more than half of the bottle. To save space, I poured the remainder of the product into different jars and containers.
So in less than an hour, I had a brand new cabinet that I am proud to show off.

Happy Organizing my Friends,

Friday's Quick Organizing Tip

Hi friends,
I need to apologize to you all for a very late Friday's post. The truth is, I've been feeling under the weather like I'm gonna die all week. Which is not very helpful, since I have family coming next week from overseas, and the house has been neglected for about a week now for the previously stated reason...on to our Friday's Quick Organizing Tip on a Saturday...

Let's face it, paper clutter is the one that multiplies like crazy...especially if you're not paying attention.

If you tend to make piles, use binder clips to fasten papers together by category until you have time to file it away. This way you will find quickly what you need.

ORGANIZING YOUR FOYER

Hi Guys,

The foyer is the first and the last thing people see when they enter your home. It leaves a lasting impression. It is very important to keep it beautiful, clean and well organized. No one actually realizes that your front foyer is just as important, or in some cases more, than any other room in your home. I do however have a few ideas and tips to share with you to make your front foyer as beautiful and special as any other room in your home.

-Remove all clutter, mail, keys, backpacks, shoes, ball caps, and assign appropriate place to store within your home. If you do leave your keys and mail in your foyer, buy a small mail sorter for your wall with key hooks on the bottom. Or place a decorative bowl to put your keys and change in as soon as you walk through the door.

-If you do not have a coat closet, the coat racks can be pretty elegant, or even hooks will do the job.

-Hanging a mirror in your foyer is a good idea, because when you are in a rush to get out, you can give yourself a quick glance to make sure you look appropriate.

-You should put a door mat in front of the door too keep dust, dirt, water and snow out. Also keep an area rug or a shoe mat near the door, so when you have guests, there isn’t thousands of shoes scattered around your whole foyer.

-If you are not lucky enough to have a closet by your front door, and are willing to spend a little bit of money, consider storage benches specifically designed for foyers or mud rooms. They are great for keeping things tidy, they have hooks for jackets and coats, and of course they have plenty of storage room for hats, mittens, umbrellas and more.

Do you have any interesting organizing tips for your foyer?  Please share them with me!
